From CSGO500 to 500 Casino: The 2016 Roots
500 Casino started life in 2016 as CSGO500, a Counter-Strike skin-gambling site from the same era that produced Gamdom and CSGOEmpire. The terms of service still state that "CSGO500" and "500PLAY" are "valid brand names of the 500 project", and the site retains CS2 cases, case battles and skin deposits alongside a conventional slots, live-dealer and sportsbook offering. That lineage cuts both ways. It gives 500 Casino a decade of continuous operation and a community that has watched it pay out through several market cycles; it also means a share of its review history comes from skin gamblers, who are younger and more volatile than the average casino customer.
The platform modernised in two steps that matter for safety: fiat payments via a Cyprus processing company, and a re-papered Curaçao licence under the 2024 LOK ordinance. Our 500 Casino review scores it 7.7/10 with "Legitimacy / Trust" at 9.2, and our growth analysis tracks its early-2026 surge and later slide out of the top ten by deposit volume.
Is 500 Casino Licensed?
Yes. The terms open by naming Perfect Storm B.V., "a private limited liability company incorporated in Curaçao, registered with the Curaçao Chamber of Commerce under number 150536", licensed by the Curaçao Gaming Authority under Online Gaming Licence OGL/2024/1354/0882 "issued to Perfect Storm B.V. as licensee under the National Ordinance on Games of Chance (LOK)". The same paragraph adds a sentence most operators omit: "This is an international license issued in Curaçao; it is not a local license issued by the authorities of the User’s own country of residence." Payments and operational support run through Nine Yards Limited (HE407807, Limassol, Cyprus).
We could not run a live register check on 6 October 2026. The Curaçao Gaming Authority’s online portal, which hosts the public licence register, has been offline since late September 2026 following an unauthorised-access incident; the regulator’s 2 October 2026 announcement confirms the outage "does not affect the validity of existing licenses". Casino Guru independently lists Perfect Storm B.V. as owner with "Established 2016". The licence number, company number and registered address are consistent across the terms, the footer, the complaints policy and that third-party record.
Does 500 Casino Pay Out?
The payout rules are detailed and, in places, stricter than the crypto-casino norm. Withdrawals go back to the originating method, and crypto withdrawals are sent "to the same wallet address used for the corresponding deposit"; paying to a new wallet requires enhanced verification. Privacy coins are refused: Monero, shielded Zcash and Dash PrivateSend are named. Each deposit must be played through once before any of it can be withdrawn, an anti-money-laundering rule disclosed at deposit time. Players must reach Level 1 and have a prior deposit before withdrawing, and accounts that have never deposited are capped at a $600 balance.
On limits, Casino Guru records USD 25,000 per day with no win cap. Our review notes fiat withdrawals take one to five business days and that sports bettors flagged as "sharp" get limited, a bookmaker practice rather than a casino one. The Travel Rule clause means large transfers can require originator and beneficiary information. None of this is unusual for a licensed operator; it is unusual for a crypto casino to write it all down.
What Happens When You Complain?
This is 500 Casino’s strongest safety feature and the reason it stands apart from the other four brands in our October 2026 trust series. The terms, and a standalone Player Complaints and Alternative Dispute Resolution Policy, lay out a three-stage path: support first (24/7 live chat or [email protected]), then an Official Complaint Submission Form, then referral to an independent ADR entity. The named provider is Resolvo, Hydraweg 3, Curaçao. Resolvo acknowledges a referral within seven calendar days and issues a written outcome within ninety days; the procedure is free to the player, all costs fall on the casino, and "the outcome of the ADR procedure is binding on 500 Casino". The policy cites LOK Article 5.3 and the CGA’s complaints and ADR guidelines as its legal basis.
The dormancy clause is similarly player-friendly. An account untouched for four years may be closed, but only after at least thirty days’ notice by email, and the player keeps the right to reclaim the balance until the statutory limitation period expires. Crypto balances are held in the original asset where possible. Compare that with the fixed monthly fees after six or twelve months at most competitors.
What Do Players Complain About?
Casino Guru, read 6 October 2026, gives 500 Casino an 8.6 "High" Safety Index, says "we have found no relevant complaints about this casino", holds 18 user reviews rated "Good", and describes the terms as "mostly fair overall" with "minor issues". Trustpilot is split across two profiles. The 500.casino profile is unclaimed and has no reviews. The legacy csgo500.com profile, claimed in June 2020, shows 2.9/5 from 964 reviews: 69% five-star and 21% one-star, with Trustpilot noting the company "hasn’t invited customers recently, so reviews may not be representative". The recent one-star reviews allege withheld winnings and a ban after a legitimate win (September 2026), slot RTP below advertised after "like 1000 spins" losing 3,000 euros (July 2026), and poor VIP treatment for a high-stakes player (September 2026).
The gap between the two records is instructive. Casino Guru investigates and adjudicates complaints; Trustpilot does not. A 21% one-star share across 964 reviews is a weaker signal than it looks when the adjudicated record is empty, but it does mean that if you have a dispute, use the ADR route rather than a review site.
Which Countries Does 500 Casino Block?
The region-restrictions section of the terms is layered. "As required under the conditions of our Curaçao gaming license", 500 Casino is unavailable in the United States and its territories, the Netherlands and France, and residents of Curaçao and the other Dutch Caribbean islands cannot play. Selected mirrors and main domains are additionally blocked in Afghanistan, Austria, Belarus, Belgium, Colombia, Congo, Cuba, Germany, Iran, Iraq, Liberia, Libya, North Korea, Norway, Poland, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, Spain, Sudan, Sweden, Syria, Turkey, the United Kingdom and Zimbabwe. The sportsbook is unavailable in Israel, Singapore, the United States and Latvia. Casino games are unavailable altogether in the United States, Australia and the United Kingdom, and NetEnt titles carry a further list of around 50 territories. Our review flags the UK casino restriction specifically. If you are in Germany, Spain, Sweden or Poland, you may reach the site on one domain and not another; that is the mirror policy, not a sign the block has been lifted.
Is 500 Casino a Scam?
No. The evidence runs the other way: ten years under one ownership, a licence number and company number that match across every page we read, an adjudicated complaint record that Casino Guru describes as empty, and a binding, free ADR process that most Curaçao operators do not offer. The weaknesses are commercial rather than ethical: the "300% rakeback boost" marketing is confusing (it is not a deposit match, as the review explains), sharp sports bettors are limited, fiat payouts are slow, and the Trustpilot history inherited from the CSGO500 days is mixed. Fairness is split: our review records provably-fair verification for the CS2 case openings (use 500 Casino's own verifier; its format is not one our tool reproduces), while the rest of the casino floor runs iTech Labs-certified RNG with no seed you can recompute.
How Does 500 Casino Compare?
The natural comparison is with Stake, and our Stake vs 500 Casino page sets the two side by side: Stake has far larger volume and provably fair originals, 500 Casino has fiat rails, CS2 skins and the ADR clause. Against Gamdom, its closest peer from the skin-gambling era, 500 Casino has a lower average deposit and a more formal complaints structure. For the current bonus and the fine print behind the rakeback boost, see the 500 Casino promo code page. If your priority is a documented path to recourse, this is the strongest of the five casinos in that series; if it is verifiable game outcomes, it is only partly (cases yes, casino floor no).
