STAKE SEED CHECKER

Stake wrote the provably-fair playbook the rest of the industry copied. Drop in a revealed server seed, your client seed and a bet’s nonce, and this page checks the seed against Stake’s pre-bet hash, then re-runs Stake’s published algorithm locally to reproduce the outcome of that exact bet.

Enter Your Game Details

Every mode first checks the commitment: SHA-256(server seed) must equal the hashed seed you were shown before betting. Stake and Shuffle seed games use HMAC-SHA256(server seed, "clientSeed:nonce:cursor") per their published docs; BC.Game modes are ported from its open-source verifier; Stake and BC.Game crash use the game hash and salt. For Roobet and other casinos we could not find a byte-level spec, so only the commitment is checked. Sources are listed in the supported list.

Calculation Steps

When Stake launched its Originals, it did something unusual for a casino: it published the maths. The result generator — HMAC-SHA256(server seed, "clientSeed:nonce:cursor") with a documented byte-to-float conversion — is spelled out in Stake’s fairness docs, and open-source ports of it exist that anyone can run. This page is one of those ports. We tested it against Stake’s published byte generator (500 random seed sets) and its published game formulas, including 200,000 Limbo rounds, so the number it prints is the number Stake’s formula gives for that seed pair and nonce. Crash is the exception: it runs on a hash chain, so for Crash you paste the round’s game hash instead (Stake’s bitcointalk seeding post, topic 5162888).

INSIDE STAKE’S FAIRNESS MODAL

Everything you need lives in one place on Stake. Hit your username at the top right, choose Settings, then the Fairness tab. Three values sit there: the client seed (editable — type anything you like), the hashed server seed (Stake’s commitment for the current pair), and the running bet count for the pair. Individual bets also carry their own fairness card: open any bet from your history and its server-seed hash, client seed and nonce are printed on it — that per-bet nonce is the one to type into this checker.

The unhashed server seed only appears once you press Rotate. Rotation retires the current pair, activates a fresh one, and discloses the old server seed in plain text. Until then you hold only its SHA-256 fingerprint — deliberately, since a disclosed seed would let anyone compute future outcomes. Our Stake review covers how the casino has handled fairness over the years.

WHAT A MATCH PROVES

Hash the revealed server seed yourself and it must equal the fingerprint Stake showed before you wagered — that is the commitment. Feed the same seed, your client seed and the bet’s nonce through the algorithm and the outcome must equal what you were paid on — that is the reproduction. Both holding at once means Stake fixed the randomness in advance and could not steer it after seeing your bet, because your client seed entered the mix on your side of the fence.

What it does not prove: that you should expect to win. Every Stake Original carries its stated house edge, and a fair game still grinds it out. The cryptographic background is unpacked in our provably-fair explainer.

STAKE SEED CHECKER FAQ

Stake publishes the algorithm in its own documentation, and this page follows it: our code matches Stake’s published byte generator and game formulas in our tests. A hash of the server seed is committed before you bet, the client seed is yours, and rotation discloses the seed so history can be audited.
No. Seed pairs belong to an account, and Stake.com and Stake.us are separate sites with separate accounts — each has its own client seed, server seed and nonce counter. We tested this checker against Stake.com’s published docs only; if you play on Stake.us, compare one bet with Stake.us’s own verifier first, and always pull the seeds from the site where the bet was placed.
Open the bet in your bet history and view its fairness details — the nonce is listed on the bet itself, alongside the client seed and hashed server seed that were active. The Fairness tab under Settings shows the running total for the current pair.
No. Rotation exists purely so the old server seed can be disclosed for auditing. Every pair produces the same uniform distribution, so odds and house edge are identical before and after — rotate as often as you want to verify.
Dice, Limbo, Roulette, Keno, Mines (any mine count) and Plinko (8–16 rows) from your seeds, plus Crash from the round’s game hash. Newer Originals such as Dragon Tower, Pump, Wheel or Hilo are not in this tool; use Stake’s own verifier for those. Third-party slots and live-dealer tables run on external RNG or physical dealing and sit outside the seed system.
