WHAT IS MAX CASHOUT?

Max cashout is the ceiling on how much you can withdraw from winnings made with a bonus, stated either as a multiple of the bonus or as a fixed amount. A $20 no-deposit bonus with a 5x max cashout pays out at most $100; anything above that figure is removed from your balance when the bonus is closed.

How a bonus win cap works

The cap sits on top of the wagering requirement: you still have to clear the playthrough, and once you do, the casino converts bonus winnings to cash only up to the limit. Caps are most aggressive on free money, with no-deposit bonuses and free spins commonly capped at 3x to 10x the bonus or $50 to $200 flat. Deposit bonuses are capped less often, but "10x the deposit" and "$5,000 per bonus" clauses do appear, and progressive jackpot wins are sometimes excluded from the cap and sometimes from the bonus altogether.

Numeric example: you receive a $20 no-deposit bonus, 50x wagering, 5x max cashout. You clear the $1,000 playthrough and finish with $620. The casino pays $100 and deletes $520. A player who finishes with $90 keeps $90, so the cap only bites on the good outcomes, which are exactly the outcomes the bonus was supposed to give you a shot at.

Max cashout versus the other caps

The clause goes by "max cashout", "maximum withdrawal from this bonus", "max conversion", "winnings capped at" or "max win". It is distinct from a withdrawal limit, which caps how much you can move out per day or week, and from a game's max win multiplier, which caps a single spin. Some terms also apply the cap to the deposit, so a $50 deposit plus a $50 bonus with a "$100 max cashout" can leave you unable to withdraw even your own money in full until the bonus is forfeited.

What the cap does to a bonus's value

A max cashout clips the right tail of your results. Roughly speaking, a 5x cap on a 50x-wagering bonus cuts the bonus's expected value by a third to a half, because the rare big runs that made the offer worth anything are the ones being truncated. For a free bonus that is a nuisance; for a deposit bonus it can turn a marginal offer into a losing one. Check whether the cap is per bonus or per day, whether your deposit is inside it, and whether you can forfeit the bonus to withdraw your deposit. The bonus calculator models a cap directly, and the no-deposit bonus page lists current capped and uncapped offers.

Max Cashout FAQ

What does max cashout mean?

It is the most you can withdraw from winnings generated by a bonus. If the cap is $100 and you win $400 after wagering, you receive $100 and the remaining $300 is removed when the bonus is settled.

Does max cashout apply to deposit bonuses?

Sometimes. It is standard on no-deposit bonuses and free spins and less common on deposit matches, but clauses such as 10x the deposit or a fixed $5,000 do appear. Read the specific bonus terms rather than assuming.

What happens to winnings above the max cashout?

They are forfeited. The casino deducts everything above the cap from your balance at the moment the bonus is completed or when you request a withdrawal, whichever its terms specify.

Is a max cashout of 5x good?

For a free bonus it is typical rather than good; 10x or no cap is better. On a $20 bonus, 5x means a $100 ceiling, which combined with 50x wagering leaves the offer worth only a few dollars in expectation.
